SPEED WITH COST-anandmullapudi

High end hardware which gives the users best perfomance costs much in the hardware if you are looking for a plenty of storage space without compromising on perfomance and bowling up too much money ,you can use an ssd(solid state drive) as the primary drive and a high  capacity hard drive as the secondary storage.such a good setup would be quite goodand ideal if you want to store videos ,songs on your pc.in case if ur are working in a office pc where you justneed to store documents and files related to work ,then a 64 gb ssd should be suffice.
upgrading your laptop storage by replacing the hard drive with an ssd is a very smart upgrade.you'll findanimprovement in the boot timeand the speedat which applications load.also, the battery life will improve beacuse ssd consume less power than hard drives due to absence of moving parts.

will computing move beyond silicon

I think there's a lot of breaks that can happen within silicon. There are a lot of optical solutions out there that are very high-performance. All of the stuff that is used for long distance communication, they are very high-performance. But they are very expensive, so what we're trying to do in silicon is match the performance -- but at a fraction of the cost.
So I think there are a lot of breakthroughs that can happen in silicon, and I think that started 30-something years ago with people realizing that silicon would be a very good material for optical communication.
